The Death Star II, known to the public as the Imperial Planetary Ore Extractor by the propaganda department, was the second Death Star battlestation to be constructed by the Galactic Empire. It, alongside one other Death Star, was built after the destruction of the first Death Star at the Battle of Yavin at the insistence of Emperor Cosimo Palpatine II insisted on the reconstruction of two battlestations as it was an integral part in his plan to destroy the Rebel Alliance, leaving the galaxy in the hands of the Empire.
